At this event, experienced lawyers and immigration professionals will assist you with your application.

You must meet the following requirements:

• Reside in the United States as a permanent resident for five years

(three years if living with and married to the same U.S. citizen)

• Live in the United States for half of the five- or three-year period

• You are at least 18 years old

What to bring:

• Green card and all passports since becoming a permanent resident

• Home addresses for the last five or three years

• Parent’s naturalization information*

• School/employment history for the last five or three years

• Children’s information (date of birth, A#, addresses)*

• Marital history

• Certified dispositions for any arrests, tickets, citations, and

MTA disposition letter*

*(If applicable)

Applicants pay a $680 filing fee to USCIS.

Please do not bring the fee to this event.

FEE WAIVERS AVAILABLE FOR NATURALIZATION

Are you receiving a means-tested benefit from a state or federal agency?

Is your household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty

Guidelines at the time of filing?

Do you have a financial hardship situation that you want USCIS to consider

when determining your eligibility for a fee waiver?

If you said yes to any of these questions, you may qualify for a fee waiver. If you

receive a means-tested public benefit, we may be able to help you prepare a

request for a fee waiver at one of our citizenship events. If you qualify for a fee

waiver on another basis, we will review your documents at the event to see if you

are eligible for a fee waiver and, if so, refer you to one of our immigration centers

where you can receive free assistance to prepare the fee waiver application.

Simply bring as many of the documents listed below with you as possible to an

event. The decision whether to waive the fee is made by the USCIS, NOT by our

volunteers or attorneys.

FEE WAIVER APPLICATION CHECKLIST:

Bring to the event as many of these items as possible:

  • F Copy of award letter from the state or federal agency granting the benefit, e.g.,

SSI award letter and/or budget letter (if applicable). The letter must be on

agency letterhead, dated within the past six months, and must clearly specify

the name of the person receiving the benefit as well as the type or amount of

benefit that has been awarded.

  •  Copy of rental lease or notarized rental agreement with monthly receipts
  •  Copies of utility bills (electricity, cable and phone)
  •  Copy of federal tax returns for the most recent tax year listing members of the

household

  •  Bank statements for the past three months
  • Child support letter (if applicable)
  •  Child school letter (if applicable)
  • Custody order showing that the child lives with you (if applicable)

This event is focused on citizenship (naturalization) applications for people who:

 

  • do not 
    • have any criminal record; and
    • need a medical waiver of any of the requirements

AND

  • either 
    • speak English; or 
    • are eligible to take the exam in their native language because they
      • have had green cards for at least 20 years and are 50 years of age or older; or 
      • have had green cards for at least 15 years and are 55 years of age or older)
