JHL Tower: Hearing scheduled to ban construction noise

Many of you have rallied, attended hearings or submitted testimony to argue against proposed construction of the Jewish Home Lifecare Tower next to PS 163.  Out of concern for the health, safety and education of our kids, even more of you signed our petition to say the project must be stopped. The outpouring of interest from the community led me to draft a bill, Intro 420, that would ban loud construction noise next to schools. Twenty one of my colleagues have also signed on as co-sponsors.

Now the City Council Committee on Environmental Protection has scheduled a hearing on Intro 420 that will put the concerns of parents and advocates front and center. Whether you'd like to show your support or testify, join us as we take this huge step forward in the legislative process.
