    Assemblyman Marcos Crespo would like to invite you to “Promoting Healthy & Thriving Families from the Early Years and Beyond.” This is an important policy forum being held in New York City on July 21stand 22nd and hosted by the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) and the Assembly Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force. The topic is dynamic and so are the presenters and location near Wall Street.

    NYC Food Waste Fair

    The NYC Department of Sanitation’s Foundation for New York’s Strongest will host the largest exhibition of food waste solutions at this summer’s NYC Food Waste Fair. Offering a “soup to nuts" approach to preventing, recovering, and recycling food waste, the NYC Food Waste Fair will equip New York City business owners and managers with the knowledge, tools and connections they need to build a food waste prevention plan from scratch, or take existing programs to the next level.

    The fair will be held on Tuesday, July 25 at the Brooklyn Expo Center. It will include an exhibit hall to showcase dozens of vendors offering food waste prevention, recovery and recycling services. Workshops will provide information on how to comply with laws and regulations, as well as tips from experts on how to achieve tangible, cost-effective results.     Make-A-Wish

    We are formally inviting you to join us for our First Wish Reveal at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital on August 1st, 2017. Make-A-Wish will be surprising a NYPH-Morgan Stanley patient with the news that her wish is about to be granted! 

    As a top referring facility, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and Make-A-Wish Metro New York have granted the wishes of over 1000 pediatric patients. We will be joined by volunteers from Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks, hospital staff, children, and families from our local community. Please RSVP here by July 21st, 2017. We look forward to celebrating our community partnerships and granting more wishes together.

    New York Junior Tennis & Learning

    New York Junior Tennis & Learning/NYJTL will run a FREE Community Tennis Program at PS 125M in District 7 this summer. The program, which runs through late August, is possible as a result of NYJTL’s FY 18 citywide funding under the Council’s Physical Education and Fitness Initiative as well as your own Member Discretionary allocation to NYJTL.
