Annual 2015 Green Thumb Harvest

ou are cordially invited to attend the Annual 2015 GreenThumb Harvest Fair, a citywide event. This event celebrates the fruits of all the hard work and time spent tending to vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit-bearing plants by the wonderful volunteers in community gardens and urban farms throughout the 5 boroughs. Urban gardeners, farmers and others will be bringing the best of their harvests reaped this season for our annual Harvest Fair Contest to highlight the tremendous contributions they make to New Yorkers and the city’s environment as a whole. We have over 600 community gardens in our city, and over 500 curriculum-inclusive school gardens, most of which also grow edible crops.GreenThumb gardens are at the forefront of a movement to bring fresh, local food to all New Yorkers, and are a testimony to the vital role that preserved, green spaces play in our urban environment.

As always, our Harvest Fair promises to be full of energy and excitement. We expect this to be the best Harvest Fair yet and we have special surprises in store. Your participation would strongly demonstrate your support of the urban gardeners who are your community residents and urban farmers.
