Honorable Discharge: We Got Dissed

Come join us tomorrow, May 24th to experience a powerful look inside the rarely discussed lives of formerly-incarcerated veterans through The Fortune Society’s production of, “Honorable Discharge: We Got Dissed.” This unique forum play details the neglect, homelessness, and joblessness faced by the NYC veteran community, and is based on the real-life experiences of the actors who perform it, providing audience members with an authentic telling of the troubles that many veterans face after serving their country.

The Fortune Society partnered with Theatre of the Oppressed NYC to create a theatre troupe with community members who face pressing social, economic, health, human rights issues. The troupe is now performing in venues aimed at engaging diverse audiences in theatrical brainstorming to activate communities and creatively challenge systems of oppression.
