After local residents formed a petition asking for the removal of double-decker tourist buses, the Department of Transportation has successfully relocated the bus stop away from the Sakura Park, just west of Riverside Drive.
Prior to the relocation, sightseeing buses would use the streets close to Sakura Park to idle, despite anti-idling laws. Not only did the idling buses release harmful fumes into the air, but the tourists off the buses would often smoke near the park, creating even more unhealthy gases right near playing children.
